Wednesday Roundup
Mediatakeout.com is reporting that singer Rihanna partied so hard at the Meta Gala that she had to be rushed to the hospital for exhaustion and dehydration. Fans will recall she skipped a dress rehearsal for her appearance on "Saturday Night Live" and had to cancel a few tour dates a while back due to illness. At any rate, here's hoping she's doing better. Closing statements will be heard in the trial of the man accused of killing three members of singer Jennifer Hudson's family. William Balford didn't take the stand in his own defense during the trial and reportedly there are about 30 witnesses scheduled to testify. Rapper G Dep has been sentenced to 15 years to life for a murder he confessed to committing back in 1993. He turned himself in to police confessing to killing the man now identified as John Henkel during a robbery attempt. The 15-year sentence was the minimum allowed under New York state law. Rita Ora has squashed rumors she and rapper Drake are dating by saying the two have never been more than friends. Meanwhile, pictures of Drake and Tyra Banks have gotten the internet buzzing. Only time will tell where things will go from here. A former bodyguard of the late Michael Jackson told a British newspaper that the singer was so paranoid that he once ordered the shooting of younger brother Randy when he visited his home. It's a wild story to be sure, and it hasn't been confirmed, so stay tuned. The John Travolta sex scandal doesn't appear to be going away anytime soon. Shortly after a male masseur accused the actor of inappropriate touching during a massage, another male masseur has filed a similar suit against the star. Although there's no word on a court date, Travolta has made it clear that he intends to fight the allegations against him. Last night's "Dancing With The Stars" was a shocker as there was a double elimination on the show. Be sure to tune in next week as the remaining contestants compete for the grand prize. The remaining finalist take the stage on Fox's "American Idol" tonight. It's anyone's guest what will happen. Singer Jermaine Paul was crowned the winner of NBC's "The Voice" last night. After an emotional speech, Paul sang while cuddling with his wife. No word on when an album is due. Congratulations to Mr Paul. On the tube: "American Idol" on Fox, "Survivor: One World" on CBS, "The Middle" on ABC and Betty White's Off Their Rockers" on NBC. Happy hump day!
