Monday Memo
The film "Gravity" topped the weekend box office, earning over $40 million. "Cloudy With a Chance of Meatballs 2", "Machete Kills" and "Runner, Runner" round out the top five films of the week. Sad news. "MasterChef" contestant Josh Marks committed suicide, according to reports. He was found dead on a Chicago street with a shot gun wound to the head. According to Marks' family, he suffered with mental health issues and they are working with mental health professionals to determine if the incident could be related to those problems. Thoughts and prayers are with the family. Rapper Kanye West was actually kind to a photographer when we was spotted recently. West says that the incident at LAX in Los Angeles where he allegedly attacked a photographer was sparked by learning the sad news that his grandfather had passed away. Whatever you say. Singer Robin Thicke appeared on "Oprah's Next Chapter" where he discussed the infamous MTV performance with Miley Cyrus. He added that he thought he'd just become a rich kid until he met his wife actress Paula Patton. Music mogul Bryan "Baby" Williams confirmed via Twitter that Los Angeles rapper The Game has been signed to Cash Money Records. Rumors swirled for some time about a possible signing of the former G-Unit affiliate. No word on when an album will be released. Singer Toni Braxton and singer/songwriter/producer Babyface have collaborated on a single, "Hurt You" and recently debuted the video. The video showcases the pair singing from either side of a hotel room wall. Later, they break through the barrier with the emotional face to face hook. The mother of two was considering an early retirement from music before teaming on the new project. The pair's album, "Love, Marriage & Divorce" due in stores on Nov. 25. On the tube: "Bones" on Fox, "How I Met Your Mother" on CBS, "Dancing With The Stars Live" on ABC and "The Voice" on NBC. Happy Monday!
