Thursday Dish

Some rappers just can't seem to stay out of trouble. Rapper DMX was arrested in South Carolina for driving without a license. He was pulled over after police spotted him behind the wheel of a 1978 Buick. He was held for five hours before posting bail. Rapper Jim Jones was arrested near his New Jersey home. A police officer spotted his vehicle and after checking discovered Jones had warrants. One was for refusal to remove snow and the other a vehicle violation. Jones refused to pay his fines and got into a scuffle with the officer, which lead to an arrest for disorderly conduct. No word on when he'll be released. The family of Emmett Till is none too pleased with rapper Lil Wayne. The remix of Future's single "Karate Chop" has caused a stir due to Weezy's unflattering reference to the young man who was kidnapped, beaten and killed in Money Mississippi in 1955. The tragic incident, and the acquittal of his  murders was the major catalyst for the Civil Rights Movement. During an interview with "Your Black World's" Dr Boyce Atkins Till's cousin Airickca Gordon-Taylor stated the family's displeasure with the song. Gordon-Taylor called the song "disrespectful" and "dishonorable". A boycott of the song has been called by Mamie Till Mobley Foundation, which was started by Till's mother and the Rainbow Push Coalition. The family has reached out to Weezy and Future, but so far have not received a response. The Hollywood round featuring the ladies took place on Fox's "American Idol" last night, and while Candice Glover, Janelle Arthur, Rachel Hale and Angela Miller were standouts, there were a few misses as well. It's anyone's guest what will happen next, so be sure to tune in. The winter film season rolls along with the upcoming release of "A Way To Die Hard". It's the fourth film in the franchise and is packed with non-stop action. On the tube: "American Idol" on Fox, "The Big Bang Theory" on CBS, "Zero Hour" on ABC and "Community" on NBC. Happy Thursday!
