Monday Memo
The film "The Hunger Games" topped the weekend box office again, earning over $21 million dollars. "The Three Stooges", "The Cabin In The Woods", Titanic" and "American Reunion" round out the top five films of the week. Rapper Rick Ross canceled another show recently, siting contract problems as the reason. The show was to take place at the same venue where Sean "Diddy" Combs and Missy Elliott were dropped due to low ticket sales. Promoters in Houston told the crowd that Ross had suffered a seizure in his hotel room before the show there, although Ross' camp hasn't confirmed this. Cancellation of the most recent show has fueled more rumors regarding Ross' health. So far, no word from the Bawse regarding the rumors. Fans will be disappointed to learn that rapper Nicki Minaj has deleted her Twitter page. Although no reason was given, Minaj did send a tweet mentioning that a person can only take so much. The fact that web site NickiDaily.com apparently posted leaked music from her upcoming album may be a reason, although this hasn't been confirmed. Fans can cross fingers that maybe one day Nicki will be back. Jada Pinkett Smith responded to rumors regarding her marriage to Will Smith by saying the marriage is fine. She added that each year a celebrity couple is put under the microscope, and this year it's she and her husband. Rapper Eve, who's slated to release a new album soon, recently voiced her opinion on the new crop of female artist entering the hip hop scene, and in doing so, stated she couldn't get into the music of Iggy Auzelea. Auzelea, has, of course, responded by saying the music isn't for Eve. Stay tuned. It doesn't appear this war of words will end anytime soon. Congratulations to Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie are in order. The two have gotten engaged. No word on a wedding date. Rapper Kanye West has changed the name of his latest single "Theraflu". While this hasn't been confirmed, it's possible the rapper may have been hit with the threat of a lawsuit. The Jennifer Lopez-Mark Anthony rumors continue. The two have been seen together, although by all accounts, it's been strictly business. Stay tuned. Jim Jones and girlfriend Chrissy have inked a deal with cable network VH1 for their own reality series. It will follow the couple during the days leading up to their wedding, and possibly the addition to their family. No word on a premiere date. On the tube: "Bones" on Fox, "How I Met Your Mother" on CBS, "Dancing With The Stars" on ABC and "The Voice" on NBC. Happy Monday!
