Wednesday Roundup

It looks like there may be some truth to the J. Cole/Vanessa Simmons rumor afterall. As mentioned previously, Diggy Simmons wrote and recorded a diss track in response to J. Cole's track in which he claimed he slept with Vanessa Simmons. Now, a source close to both has revealed that J. Cole, Vanessa Simmons and J. Cole's current girlfriend Melissa attended St Johns University together while Cole and Melissa lived together in an apartment off campus. A rumor soon spread about Vanessa and J. Cole cheating. Melissa got a few friends together and confronted Vanessa. Vanessa denied an affair was going on at that time. Stay tuned. Only time will tell where things will go from here. Restaurant chain Burger King has pulled a new ad featuring singer Mary J. Blige. The ad features the Queen of Hip Hop Soul singing about the restaurant's crispy chicken snack wrap. Fans have blasted the singer, saying the ad is stereotypical and calling her a sell out. So far, no word from the singer regarding the matter. If you think rapper Tyler The Creator is sorry about offending legendary female rapper MC Lyte on his group Odd Future's new single, "Rella", you'd be wrong. During a recent interview with DJ Drama, the rapper stated he doesn't think about anyones feelings when he's writing, and that he didn't mean for Lytes feelings to get hurt. MC Lyte responded sometime ago to the track saying she felt insulted and didn't want to be used as a stomping ground. Tyler and the rest of Odd Future are in the middle of promoting a new variety show, "Loiter Squad", and a new album, "The OF Tape Vol 2". New music from rapper Snoog Dogg will hit stores on April 20. A production company has picked up a film starring the legendary West Coast MC and newcomer Wiz Khalifa as well. No word on when the film will hit theaters. Be sure to tune in to Fox's "American Idol" tonight. It's eighties night as the competition continues and contestants perform for both votes and the grand prize. VH1's "Couple's Therapy" starring rapper DMX airs tonight as well. On the tube: "American Idol" on Fox, "Survivor: One World" on CBS, "The Middle" on ABC and "Betty White's Off Their Rockers" on NBC. Happy hump day!
