Thursday Dish

Sad news out of Hollywood. Dick Clark, the man who was nicknamed "the world oldest teenager", has died. Clark suffered a massive heart attack while in the hospital for another procedure. He was 82. Clark began his career as a Philadelphia DJ before taking over a local television show, "American Bandstand". Clark convinced ABC to take the show national. Clark was a pioneer who brought pop culture to millions each week. He also put many African American performers on television as well. His production company, Dick Clark Productions, went on the produce "The 10,000 Pyramid", which he hosted, "The American Music Awards", "The Academy Of Country Music Awards" and "The Miss Universe Pageant", among others. He also produced and hosted "Dick Clark's New Year's Rockin Eve", where many tuned in to watch the ball drop in Times Square. It became a holiday ritual. His legacy will live on and he will be missed by many. Atlanta rapper Lil Scrappy is doing better after suffering an asma attack. He was hospitalized and put on a breathing machine, which he now takes with him everywhere he goes. A former bodyguard of the late Michael Jackson claims he's the father of the singer's youngest child, Blanket and plans to sue to prove it. He says he donated his sperm to Jackson, but believes his mother Katherine Jackson is keeping him from the child fearing that he's after money. The bodyguard says he wants his mother, who's suffering with cancer, to get to know the child who may be his. Yet another rumor regarding Kanye West has surfaced, and it's not a good one. A former fiance now claims that West was abusive during their relationship. She's even gone so far as to say that one argument between the two in particular, was about Kim Kardashian. Fans will remember that another former girlfriend, Amber Rose, claimed she and West parted ways due to West cheating with the reality star. Sheree Whitfield says she's done with "The Real Housewives Of Atlanta", claiming she no longer wants to be a part of the negativity. This may be an attempt to clean up the rumor that she was fired from the show. Another rumor that's surfaced is that Kim Zolack may soon be off the show as well. The rumor hasn't been confirmed, so stay tuned. The then and now theme on last night's  "American Idol" was an exciting one, with contestants singing two songs each. So far, Joshua Ledet and Jessica Sanchez seem to be standouts, but it's still early in the competition so anything can happy. Tune in to tonight's results show to see who goes home. On the tube: "American Idol" on Fox, "The Big Bang Theory" on CBS, "Missing" on ABC and "Community" on NBC. Happy Thursday!
