Tuesday Tales
Singer Rihanna has cancelled tour dates in Arizona, Texas and Washington. It was speculated that the singer cancelled the Arizona date in protest of the state's recent imigration law, but that has been neither confirmed nor denied. Singer Mariah Carey has been hit with a 38K lawsuit by Dr Cindy Bressler, who claims the singer only paid 8,000 of a 38,000 bill in which Dr Bressler cared for Carey's Jack Russel puppies. Dr Bressler stated that she provided services for the dogs while Carey was in Los Angeles promoting the film "Precious". Bressler's attorney also stated that the doctor also delivered one of the pups while Ms Carey was away last year. No comment as of yet from Carey's camp on the suit. According to Hollywood.com attendance at theaters is down 4% from last year, despite a strong start by Avatar, directed by James Cameron. Ticket sales are up 2% because IMX and 3-D films have pushed ticket prices up to $7.95. The industry has remained profitable due to a few films that have either met or exceeded expectations. "Robin Hood" and cartoons such as "Toy Story 3" and "Shrek Forever After" proved there were some entries worth catching at the local cineplex. Let see what the rest of the summer season has in store. Be sure to catch "Project Runway" with host Heidi Klum when it airs tonight on Lifetime. Klum says each episode will be 90 minutes in length each week. That means 30 minutes more drama. Be sure to tune in. The Dream has new music in stores this week. On dvd: "Hot Tub Time Machine" and "Percy Jackson & the Olympians: The Lighting Thief". On the tube: "Hell's Kitchen" on Fox, "NCIS" on CBS, "Wipeout" on ABC and "Losing It With Jillian" on NBC. Happy Tuesday!
